우수 프랜차이즈 등급에 따른 특성 차이 연구
소상공인진흥원은 프랜차이즈 본사의 재무적 안전성과 건전한 프랜차이즈 산업발전을 도모하고자 프 랜차이즈 수준평가 제도를 실시하여 4개의 등급을 부여하고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 우수프랜차이즈등 급에 따라 가맹본부특성, 시스템 운영특성, 관계특성, 시스템성과의 4개 범주에 차이가 있는지 분석하고, 각 등급의 타당성을 검증하고자 하였다. 2013년도와 2014년도의 총 124개 브랜드의 150개의 표본 자 료를 활용하여 빈도분석, 상관관계, MANOVA를 실시하였다. 그 결과 가맹본부는 회사규모와 본부의 매뉴얼 구축과 관리에 차이가 있었으며, 시스템 운영특성에서 는 가맹초기교육과 가맹점 관리 매뉴얼의 보유와 유지에 뚜렷한 차이가 나타났다. 가맹본부와 가맹점 관 계에서는 등급 간 차이가 없었으나 시스템 성과에 있어 본부의 성과에서만 등급별 차이를 보이고 가맹점 성과에는 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 등급별 차이를 보면 1등급은 모든 측정항목이 우수하게 나타났 으며 특히 성과와 회사의 규모, 매뉴얼, 교육, 지원에서 우수했다. 2등급은 전체 측정 대상의 50% 이상 이 편중되어 등급 내 편차가 심하게 나타났다. 3등급은 4등급에 비해서는 우수하지만 전반적인 경쟁력 이 낮았으며, 4등급은 성과가 낮을 뿐만 아니라 본부의 매뉴얼이나 초기 지원시스템도 부족했다. 따라서 우수 프랜차이즈 등급제도는 프랜차이즈 본부의 역량을 높여 우수 브랜드를 육성하고, 가맹점 과의 동반성장을 위한 제도적 지원근거를 제공하고 활용하는데 필요한 제도임을 확인 할 수 있었다. 하지만 보다 객관적이고 다양한 분석을 위한 평가항목과 척도가 개선되어야 하겠다.

A Study of the Franchisor’s Characteristics by Designated Good Franchise Standards
The purpose of this study was to analyze the franchise’s characteristics of Designated Good Franchise Standards by Small Enterprise and Market Service(SEMAS). 150 franchise data were provided by SEMAS and used for MANOVA. The results are the following ; 1) There were differences in company size and construction and management of the franchisor manual. 2) In operation system characteristics, there were significant differences in initial training and manual of initial support. 3) Regarding performance, there is difference in Franchisor. In summary, 1st grade Good Franchise performed the best in all of aspects such as performance, company size, manual, training, and support. On the other hand, 4th grade franchise showed the worst performance. This study found that the Designated Good Franchise Standards was the valid evaluation system to classify the best franchise brand for the prospective franchisee. However, some criteria were needed for improvement to clearly define good franchise.
